Delhivery Tracking Guide — AWB Number, Status Meanings, and What to Do When Stuck
If you have bought or sold anything in India in the past few years there is a good chance that Delhivery was involved in the process. Delhivery is one of the logistics companies in the country and they handle deliveries for many platforms like Meesho, Amazon and many others.
Understanding how Delhivery tracking works has been really helpful to me when buyers contact me to ask where their order is.
What You Need to Track a Delhivery Shipment
To track a Delhivery shipment you need the AWB number, which is also known as the Air Waybill number. This is a code that Delhivery assigns to each shipment. The AWB number is usually 12 to 15 digits long. Delhivery uses this number to keep track of the shipment.
How to Track
To track a Delhivery shipment you can go to delhivery.com/tracking enter the AWB number and click on the Track button. The page will show you the status of the shipment the last known location and the expected delivery date. Delhivery tracking is a process.

What the Tracking Statuses Mean
Delhivery has different tracking statuses. Here is what they mean:
- **Shipment Booked:** This means that the tracking number has been generated. The physical pickup has not been done yet by Delhivery.
- **Picked Up:** This means that the parcel has left the sellers location with the Delhivery agent.
- **In Transit:** This means that the parcel is moving through the Delhivery network.
- **Out for Delivery:** This means that the parcel is expected to be delivered today by Delhivery.
- **Delivered:** This means that the parcel has been handed over to the recipient by Delhivery.
- **RTO Initiated:** This means that the parcel is being returned to the origin by Delhivery.
Why Tracking Sometimes Stops Updating
The tracking updates depend on the parcel being scanned at each point in the Delhivery network. Sometimes the parcel may not be scanned for hours when it is being moved between facilities. During high-volume periods the scanning process can fall behind. Delhivery tracking may not be updated.
For sellers it is very important to start with printed labels to prevent pickup failures. You can use a [crop tool](/blog/how-to-crop-meesho-labels-for-thermal-printing) to ensure that the labels are printed correctly and can be scanned successfully by Delhivery.
